Our Story

McRae & Co. was founded by Larry D. McRae in 1988 with our office located in Kernersville, North Carolina. With over 40 years experience in the design and construction industry, Larry started his career employed by large corporations in Greensboro, NC, designing homes, multifamily and commercial projects. He continued to gain experience in building client relationships, cost estimating, contract negotiations, project management and completed his employment in the corporate world by serving as Construction Manager. He managed a complete staff of designers, estimators, superintendents and project managers for both residential and commercial projects in North and South Carolina. He continues to maintain a North Carolina General Contractors license.

With his invaluable experience in the construction industry, he has used his understanding of the construction process and the vast structural conditions associated with building, to serve as key factors of the success of McRae & Co., a full service design company.

Larry explains, "We take great pride and effort to listen to our clients in designing their unique homes or commercial projects, because every project has it's own unique qualities. With today's technology in CAD, email, Skype and faxes, McRae & Co. has been able to successfully provide design services all over the country."

Combined with a natural artistic creative ability and years of experience of construction management, Larry has had the privilege to design some of the largest homes in the southeast.
